ESG Agenda

Raízen integrates environmental, social, economic, and governance (ESG) aspects to create valor for and share value with our stakeholders. This ensures the perpetuity, competitiveness, and responsibility of our business.

ESG (environmental, social, and governance) criteria have been included in the construction of our business models since the origin of Raízen. We were the first in the world to obtain the Bonsucro certification, an example of our responsibility for high social and environmental standards in our sugarcane chain.

With a strong focus on transparency, Raízen adopts some of the most internationally recognized standards, such as the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) and TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) guidelines for the disclosure of your ESG information. As an integrated energy company, our commitment to best practices extends from end to end, from the cultivation of sugarcane, to the production of renewable energy and sugar, to the distribution and marketing of fuels.

This is how we became one of the largest producers and distributors of energy in the country.

This is how we became one of the largest producers and distributors of energy in the country.

Managing the positive and negative impacts of all our businesses is a big challenge. But we do not lack the energy to think differently and go beyond so that we can lead the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Sustainability is at the heart of our strategy

Inspired to be a reference on this topic in our sectors, we developed a Strategic Sustainability Plan based on a comprehensive materiality study that involved several stakeholders.

This, together with robust governance, enabled a leap in maturity for the company and allowed us to launch relevant public commitments for 2030.
