  • Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory

    Download all documents

We measure our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to understand the true impact of our operations, as well as to structure effective reduction initiatives and strategies. Our Annual Emissions Inventory has been prepared since the inception of our activities, following the guidelines of The Greenhouse Gas Protocol and its national version, the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program. The survey is conducted through an integrated system that automatically converts monthly data on operations into emissions.

External Agenda

We develop advocacy work to influence the formulation of domestic public policy and public sector decision-making. We also raise awareness and mobilize stakeholders from strategic international markets to expand our operations and strengthen the development of the sugarcane energy sector and society.  This work is carried out in cooperation with various departments, such as: Government Relations, responsible for relationships with national and international public authorities; Trading and Sustainability, focusing on regulatory issues and sustainability criteria, particularly analyzing mandates from other countries; and other teams that contribute studies and technical inputs that deepen our debates.

Business Pact for Integrity and against Corruption

We are signatories to the Business Pact for Integrity and against Corruption – an initiative created jointly by the Ethos Institute, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), World Economic Forum, Brazilian Committee of the Global Compact, among others. Furthermore, we support the Instituto Combustível Legal, created from a movement started by Plural (formerly Sindicom) to reinforce the importance of an ethical and fair environment, in which everyone correctly pays their taxes and, thus, encourages fair competition.

Business20 (B20) & COP

We seek to increase our protagonism abroad by participating in important initiatives, such as Business20 (B20), the representation of the private sector in the Group of 20 (G20 – group of the 20 largest economies in the world) and the Conference of the Parties to the Convention - Framework of United Nations on Climate Change, the so-called COP.

Chair of the B20 2024 Energy Transition and Climate Task Force

Our CEO, Ricardo Mussa, is Chair of the B20 2024 Energy Transition and Climate Task Force, playing a leading role in the debates. Through this participation, we were able to actively contribute to the group's debates, raising issues relevant to our business and sector, such as the urgency of expanding global cooperation in the transition to Net Zero, encouraging the production of biofuels and supporting development of a sustainable supply chain of biofuels as an energy source.

Right Hands Program

We are also signatories to the Business Pact Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents on Brazilian Highways, the main element of the Na Mão Certa Program, proposed by Childhood Brasil and the Ethos Institute. The initiative aims to encourage companies to make a commitment to this important cause.

Large Enterprises Program

We joined the Large Enterprises Program, focusing on the locations where we are carrying out E2G expansion works. These initiatives aim to engage companies in the crucial cause of combating the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, encouraging them to take responsibility and take concrete measures to prevent and combat this serious social problem.
